Non-Accessible Content
It is important to note that efforts to enhance the website are ongoing as we work to implement the relevant updates to meet WCAG 2.2 A/AA guidelines over time. While we continue to make improvements for accessibility and user experience, we are aware of some limitations that currently exist and that we are working to fix. We have included a list below of known limitations and potential solutions; if you encounter an issue not listed below, please contact us to let us know.
Known limitations for the UPPAbaby website
- Interface naming and labeling: Some interactive elements have unclear or non-descriptive labels or names. We are currently working on implementing clear, informative labeling on affected buttons and interactive elements. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Color contrast of text in promotional content: Some text does not meet the contrast requirements between the text and page background colors. This issue is currently limited to limited content within promotional blocks on shopping pages. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Color contrast between text fields and page backgrounds: Some text input fields have borders that do not meet color contrast requirements when compared to the page background.
- Clear focus states: Radio elements on the Vista Configurations module are missing visible changes between default, hover, and focus states. Elements can still be accessed and interacted with, but the visual changes are currently not clear. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Search results filters and sorting: Sorting controls on the search results pages are not navigable by keyboard. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Keyboard focus on modals: When a modal popup is triggered, keyboard focus remains on the page behind the modal and navigating to or finding the popup by keyboard is difficult or (in some instances) blocked. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Main navigation dropdown: On smaller screens, the dropdown submenu cannot be scrolled, so content and keyboard focus may be visually hidden from the viewer. Links can still be accessed via keyboard control. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Video player gesture navigation: When a visitor is viewing a page with a video player on a mobile device, they are unable to use gesture navigation to navigate from the player to the next or previous headings on the page. We plan on fixing this throughout 2025.
- Audio descriptions and transcripts: Some of the videos on this site do not have audio descriptions or text transcripts. These are ongoing updates and we will continue to add audio descriptions and transcripts to video content throughout 2025.
- iframe title attributes and aria attributes: The containers for our email signup and cookie consent banners are not correctly read by screen readers and may have incorrect attributes applied to some of the internal content. These are tools managed by third parties and we have sent requests for addressing these issues to their support and development teams.
