The Mesa V2 seat pad, infant insert, buckle pad, and shoulder pads can be machine washed on the gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry. We recommend spot cleaning the canopy and plastic parts. The harness webbing should be cleaned with warm water and dish soap.

Yes, the Mesa V2 carrier is FAA approved when used according to the instruction manual We suggest you travel with your Mesa V2 in flight for optimal safety. The Mesa base is not approved for aircraft use.

The base is not required to achieve a safe and secure install. The lap belt routes through the guides on the carrier that are located near the carry handle, and the shoulder belt routes behind the carrier through the guide located above the carrier release from base handle. Reference the Mesa V2 manual and vehicle manual for seat belt installation guidance.

Ensure the red line on the side of the carrier is parallel to the vehicle floor rather than the ground outside the vehicle. Ensure the back angle of the carrier stays in the correct position and the carry handle is placed in the 4^th position.

No, UPPAbaby does not allow vehicle seat protectors with their car seats because they haven't been tested or approved for use. The car seat base has a finished bottom to prevent vehicle seat damage.

State and federal safety standards require all car seats meet stringent flame retardancy standards (also referred to as FMVSS 302). For the Mesa V2, UPPAbaby meets this standard without applying any fire-retardant chemicals to the fabric that is in direct contact with the child. The foam that is underneath the fabric is treated to meet this requirement, however, the composition does not include harmful chemicals. Additionally, the Mesa V2 is GREENGUARD Gold Certified which tests for low chemical emissions, VOC’s.

This Mesa V2 Infant Insert is designed to optimize fit and body positioning for your child. The following fit criteria must be achieved before the insert can be removed.

1. Harness straps are at or slightly below shoulders.
2. Bottom of the headrest is positioned at or up to 1 inch above shoulders.
3. Chest clip is at armpit level.
4. Crotch buckle rests securely against child with no gaps and child is not sitting on top of the buckle.
5. Room to tighten harness properly.
6. Child is not slouching.

* NOTE: You may continue to use the Infant Insert beyond 11lbs until all criteria are met.
